The comment below was posted on Don's home page by Ramond Fox. I copied it to Don"s memorial page.

"I last posted about Don Wickersham more than 2 years ago. I thought I had emailed him last in April 2018 but it was in fact March 12 2018. I found a post by Georgia Cremation center that he had died March 30, 2018. Don has led quite a varied life. After high school Don studied at the Phila. New School of music to be a concert pianist. Later he served in the US Navy. He was married for a short time. After the Navy he became a tennis pro teaching tennis for clients. While working on a Doctors Degree in English he taught Freshman English at Penn State University, Later he had a career of writing complicated insurance packages for large corporations. In his late 60s he retired in Mableton Ga. a suburb of Atlanta. The last 6 years of his life we emailed each other twice a month and I visited him several times. Excerpts from my last email to him 2 weeks before his death. " Hey Wick, Your spirit and Don Wickersham the man have been such a wonderful additionto our world, a world that can be full of joy and a world that also can have heartache. Not only me, but I'm sure you are and have been an inspiration to many other people through out your life. A calm demeanor, thoughtful advice and yes lots of laughter.............I want my spirit to be with you as long as possible. You will in my memory as long as I live. Love Fox"

I'm sorry that I did not know Donald better. it reminds me of the parable told to us at graduation about a young man in the desert who met an old man. The old man asked the young man to put pebbles and small rocks into the saddlebags on the young man's burro. The old man urged the young man to take many as they would become valuable. To humor the old man, the youngster picked up a few but refused to take notice of the old man's urging to take more. Upon arrival to the young man's destination, he unloaded his saddle bags of the forgotten pebbles and stones and to his astonishment found them all to have transformed into precious gems. He was pleased about what he had taken and sorry about those that he left behind. Donald sounds like one of the  gems I left behind.
